Findlay is a filmmaker and photographer with a BA (Hons) in Film from Edinburgh Napier University, specialising in cinematography. His creative style draws inspiration from visually and emotionally rich films such as Sound of Metal and Koyaanisqatsi. With a strong foundation in documentary filmmaking—particularly observational formats—Findlay has also developed a growing interest in narrative fiction, focusing on themes such as anxiety, confrontation, and surrealism.
He is especially passionate about projects centered around live events, with a particular focus on music. Recently, his creative attention has been split between his short film Anna and a body of work in nightlife videography.
Following the completion of his degree, Findlay committed to freelance film and photography on a part-time basis, with an emphasis on nightlife events and festivals. During his first year of freelancing, he invested in building his own equipment setup to allow for greater creative control and independence. Alongside this, he continued to refine his visual style, developing a particular interest in stop-motion techniques.
